Crochet Cup Cozy Easy And Simple

Crochet cup cozy that is very easy to make and also can be resized to fits your cup. I used a regular cup with medium thickness yarn. It would make a great gift with the cup.

Materials:

Medium thickness yarn with suitable crochet hook
Needle
Buttons

Terms:

MR – Magic ring
st – stitch
sl st – slip stitch
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet

Notes:

You can resize the pattern as you’ll see in the directions.

This pattern works best with cups that have same size top and bottom.

All beginning (ch 2) count as hdc.

I make two button loops, but you can make just one if you like.

Directions:

Rnd 1: MR, ch 2 (count as hdc), 11 hdc. Sl st 2nd ch. (12 hdc)

Rnd 2: Ch 2 (count as hdc), hdc same st, 2 hdc in each st. Sl st 2nd ch. (24 hdc)

Rnd 3: Ch 2 (count as hdc), hdc same st, hdc next st, *2 hdc, hdc* repeat until the end. Sl st 2nd ch. (36 hdc)

To resize: Make more increasing round until you’ve same size of the cup bottom or a little bit smaller.

Rnd 4: Ch 2 (count as hdc), hdc in each st. Sl st 2nd ch. (36 hdc)

Rnd 5: Repeat round 4.

To resize: Repeat round 4 until you reach the lower part of the cup handle.

Rnd 6: Ch 2 (count as hdc), turn, hdc in each st. Do not sl st. (36 hdc)

Rnd 7 – 8: Repeat round 6.

To resize: Repeat round 6 until you reach the middle part of the cup handle.

First loop: Ch 18 (make more or less to match the size you need), turn, sl st in last hdc.

Rnd 9: Ch 2 (count as hdc), hdc in each st.

Rnd 10: Ch 2 (count as hdc), turn, hdc in each st.

To resize: Repeat round 10 until you reach the top part of the cup handle.

Second loop: Repeat same steps as the first loop.

Rnd 11: Ch 1, sc same st, sc in each st until the end. FO and weave in ends.

Finishing:

Sew the buttons in the right places.
