Very easy and fast to make crochet doily granny hexagon tapestry. It’s thicker than the usual doily, that is why it’s perfect for my chair seat. You can resize it easily making more rounds for the hexagons or by using more hexagons or both. I was fun to make I hope you try it.
Skill level: Easy / Intermediate
Medium thickness yarn with half or one size larger crochet hook that usually used with it
MR – Magic ring
st – stitch
sl st – slip stitch
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
• I used 7 granny hexagons, you can use more and change the shape and size.
• We’ll crochet each hexagons separately then attach them together as you’ll see.
• We’ll use the normal yarn without the t-shirt yarn when we attach the pieces together and working around the doily’s edge at the end.
Make 7 granny tapestry hexagons using this pattern. FO and weave in ends after each one.
Joining the hexagons
To join the granny hexagons, use the medium thickness yarn only. Sl st to join the sts of each side together.
Use the outer loop of the single crochet sts that are facing each other. Use one loop of the chains that are facing each other to sl st. FO and weave in ends.
Sl st in any ch space, ch 1, sc same ch space, ch 1, sc next ch space, ch 1, sc next ch space. Repeat same steps for all the edges except the outer angles. Make (sc, ch 1, sc, ch 1) each ch space at the angles. FO and weave in ends.
