Crochet Wavy Headband

Crochet wavy headband with two colors. Looks elegant and easy to make. I used two color to make it but you can use just one if you like, note that the waves will be more visible when you use two colors. It’s preferably to use medium to thick yarn with this pattern (about 3 to 5 mm thick). Make sure to make the headband a little bit smaller than your head because it’s stretchy.

Materials:
About 5 mm thick yarn, two colors
10 mm hook
You can use any yarn you like with medium to thick (about 3 to 5 mm thick) with proper hook size
Needle

Terms:
st – stitch
sl st – slip stitch
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
tr – treble crochet

Special terms:
I used the invisible join at the end of the pattern but you can use the regular slip stitch.

Re sizing:
All you need to do is make more or less chains at the beginning. The formula for the number of chain you need to make is (multiples of 8 + 1 )

Notes:
Make the headband a little bit smaller than your head because it’s stretchy.
Make the beginning tail about 5 to 6″ tall because we’re going to use it to sew the part of the beginning section later.

Directions:
R 1: Use the first color. Ch 40+1, sc 2nd ch from hook, hdc, dc, tr, tr, dc, hdc, sc, *sc, hdc, dc, tr, tr, dc, hdc, sc* repeat till the end of the row. Sl st in first sc in R 1. (40 sts)

R 2: Use the second color. Ch 3 (doesn’t count as st), *tr, dc, hdc, sc, sc, hdc, dc, tr* repeat till the end of the round. Join with a sl st in the first tr in R 2 (I used the invisible join). FO. (40 sts)

Finishing:
Use the tail we left at the beginning to sew the lower part of that section. (see pic)
