Few days ago I published my book (Crochet Arabic Letters) and that is why I decided to make number of crochet patters that can be used with the crochet Arabic letters. Today I’ll be sharing this mini crochet cushions. It can be used as pin cushion or little gift or as decoration in your room.

Materials:
Any kind of yarn with medium thickness
Crochet hook with suitable size for the yarn
In the pics you see I used 2 mm thick soft yarn with 3 mm crochet hook

Stuffing
Fabric and sewing needle
Terms:
MR – Magic ring
st – stitch
sl st – slip stitch
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
Notes:
• In the round cushion you wont be needing to use a fabric cushion, you can use the stuffing directly without worry of it being shown through the stitches.
• With square cushion you need to use a fabric cushion because if you use the stuffing directly it’ll show up through the stitches.
• Remember to sew the letters to the cushions before crocheting the edges.
Directions:
Crochet Arabic letters:
You can find the Arabic crochet letters in this book.
Leave about 4 to 6″ long tail at the end of each letter you make to use it for sewing.
Sew the letters on the cushions before crocheting the edges.
Round Cushion:
Make two.
Rnd 1: MR, ch 3 (count as dc), 11 dc, sl st in 3rd ch. (12 dc)
Rnd 2: Ch 3 (count as dc), dc same st, 2 dc each st around, sl st in 3rd ch. (24 dc)
Rnd 3: Ch 3 (count as dc), dc same st, dc, *2 dc, dc* repeat until the end of the round, sl st 3rd ch. (36 dc)
Rnd 4: Ch 3 (count as dc), dc same st, dc next 2 sts, *2 dc, dc next 2 sts* repeat until the end of the round, sl st 3rd ch. FO. (48 dc)
Sew the letter to right side of one of the circles.
The edges:
a) Crocheting the edges will close the two circles together. Make sure to crochet through two sts, one of each circle.
b) Place the two circles together wrong sides facing each other.
c) Add in the new color by sl st in any st you choose (make sure to go through the two circles)
d) Ch 1, sc same st, skip next st, (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) all in next st, skip next st.
e) Sc next st, skip next st, (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) all in next st, skip next st.
f) Repeat last step until you close the two circles together, make sure to stuff it before the finishing. Sl st in first sc. FO.
Square Cushion:
Make two squares.
Rnd 1: MR, ch 3 (count as dc), 2 dc, ch 2, *3 dc, ch 2* three times, sl st in 3rd ch. (12 dc)
Rnd 2: Ch 3 (count as dc), dc each of next 2 sts, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) next chs space. *dc next 3 sts, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) next chs space* repeat three times, sl st 3rd ch. (28 dc)
Rnd 3: Ch 3 (count as dc), dc each of next 4 sts, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) next chs space. *dc each of next 7 sts, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) next chs space* 3 times. Dc each of next 2 sts, sl st 3rd ch. FO.
Sew the letter to right side of one of the squares before crocheting the edges.
The edges:
a) Crocheting the edges will close the two squares together. Make sure to crochet through two sts, one of each square.
b) Place the two squares together wrong sides facing each other.
c) Add in the new color by sl st in the second st that come after one of the chs corner. Ch 1, sc same st.
d) *Skip next st, 5 dc next st, skip next st, sc next st* repeat two times until you reach next corner.
e) Skip next st, 5 dc next chs space, skip next st, sc next st.
f) Repeat the last two steps until you finish the closing the square cushion. Make sure to stuff before closing. Sl st in first sc. FO.
