This week we’ll be making this easy and cute crochet sheep head. This pattern’ll be an applique piece, but I doubled it to make it steadier. If you want to see my previous amigurumi crochet sheep click this link.

Materials:
Any kind of thin to medium thickness yarn with suitable crochet hook
Needle
Safety eyes
Black thread and small needle for the nose and mouth
Terms:
MR – Magic ring
st – stitch
sl st – slip stitch
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
BL – back loop only
FL – front loop only
P – Picot stitch
Notes:
We’ll be making two of the sheep head pattern, leaving about 8″ long tail for the back side one for sewing.
Don’t FO after making the front side of the head and complete with the ears and hair pattern.
Directions:
The sheep head:
Make two pieces, one for the front side and one for the back side of the head.
FO and leave about 8″ long tail for the back side one.
Do not FO after making the front side and complete with ears and hair pattern.
Rnd 1: Use the white color. Ch 4, sc 2nd ch from the hook, sc next st, 3 sc last st. Don’t turn, we’ll be working on the other side of the beginning chs. Sc next st, 2 sc next st. (8 sc)
Rnd 2: 2 sc, sc, 2 sc in each of next 3 sts, sc, 2 sc in each of next 2 sts. (14 sc)
Rnd 3: 2 sc, sc in each of next 3 sts, 2 sc in each of next 4 sts, sc in each of next 3 sts, 2 sc in each of next 3 sts. Sl st next st. (22 sc)
FO and leave about 8″ long tail for the back side one.
Do not FO after making the front side and complete with ears and hair pattern.
The ears and hair:
We’ll working this part continuously and FO at the end, but I’ll break it to three parts to make it easier.
Use the hair and ears color.
• Firs ear: Ch 6, sl st 2nd ch from the hook, sc, 2 hdc, sc, sl st last st. Do not FO.
• Hair: *Picot, sl st BL in next st on the head, picot, sl st FL in same st* repeat 6 times. Do not FO.
• Second ear: Ch 6, sl st 2nd ch from the hook, sc, 2 hdc, sc, sl st last st. FO and weave in ends.
Finishing:
• Attach the safety eyes and sew the nose and mouth.
• Place the head parts wrong side facing each other and sew them together.
• Make a small loop on top of the head if you like.
