Crochet M & Ms Book
Since I’m working on my new book “Crochet M & Ms” I decided to share a few dolls pattern that are easy and fast to make. And today we’ll have the square one.

Your choice of yarn with suitable crochet hook (two colors)
safety eyes or any kind of doll eyes you like
Stuffing
Needle
Terms:
st – stitch
sl st – slip stitch
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
BL – back loop only
FL – front loop only
C – cluster stitch
Special terms
Invisible slip stitch/Invisible join at the end
Notes
The pattern contain two squares that will be joined together using sc around the edges and making the limbs as we go.
It’s much easier to attach and sew the eyes and mouth before joining the body squares together.
Directions
The body square
Make two individual squares FO after each one.
Row 1: Ch 11, sc 2nd ch from the hook, sc in each st. (10 sc)
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc FL in each st. (10 sc)
Row 3 – 8: Repeat row 2. FO.
Attach the eyes and sew the mouth on one of the squares.
Joining and making the limbs
We’ll use the sc to join.
Do not FO and do not turn.
Place the face square on top of the other.
I’ll split the instructions into the square sides to make it easier to follow.
First side (top)
Start with the first stitch of this side working through both layers and using the inner loops.
Using the second color yarn, sl st in first st, ch 1, 3 sc same st, sc in each of next 2 sts.
Working the first ear, ch 7, sl st 7th ch from the hook.
Complete working in the same square side, sc in each of next 4 sts.
Working the second ear, ch 7, sl st 7th ch from the hook.
Complete working in the same square side, sc in each of next 2 sts, 3 sc last st.
Second side
To work this side insert the hook through one loop of each layer.
Sc in each of next 4 sts (until you reach the middle)
Working the first arm, ch 9, 2 dc cluster 3rd ch from the hook, ch 2, sl st in each of remaining 6 chs.
Complete working in the same square side, sc in each of next 4 sts.
Third side
Use the inner loops to crochet this side.
3 sc in first st, sc in each of next 2 sts.
Working the first leg, ch 10, 2 dc cluster 3rd ch from the hook, ch 2, sl st in each of remaining 7 chs.
Complete working in the same square side, sc in each of next 4 sts.
Working the second leg, ch 10, 2 dc cluster 3rd ch from the hook, ch 2, sl st in each of remaining 7 chs.
Complete working in the same square side, sc in each of next 2 sts, 3 sc last st.
Fourth side
To work this side insert the hook through one loop of each layer.
Sc in each of next 4 sts.
Working the second arm, ch 9, 2 dc cluster 3rd ch from the hook, ch 2, sl st in each of remaining 6 chs.
Complete working in the same square side, sc in each of next 4 sts.
Sl st in fist sc or use the invisible sl st. FO.
