In this pattern I’ll be sharing this unique crochet pattern that’ll show you how to crochet thick rug any size you like. The rug’ll be round and have plain edges. You can use the pattern to make a big cushion.
Designer: Nada
Skill level: Easy/Intermediate
Size: Free
Materials:
Medium to thick yarn (see notes)
Crochet hook that is a bet larger than what you usually use
Needle
Terms:
MR – Magic ring
st – stitch
sl st – slip stitch
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
BL – back loop only
FL – front loop only
Notes:
You need to use medium to thick yarn with this rug, if you don’t have it, you can double or triple your thin yarn and use it as one.
It’s better to use a hook half or one size larger than what you usually use, because the stitches need to be a little bet loose.
This rug basically is a normal sc circle, the different is that we add in additional round after each normal round.
It’s crucial to use a marker when it says in the pattern.
Directions:
Rnd 1: MR, 6 sc in the ring. Sl st next st [mark this stitch]. (6 sc)
Rnd 2: *ch 5, sl st in FL of next st* repeat until the end of the round. Last sl st in this round will be in the st we marked in the previous round.
Rnd 3: We’ll be working in BL that we left in the previous round.
2 sc BL in each st around. Sl st both loops next st [mark this st]. (12 sc)
Rnd 4: Repeat rnd 2.
Rnd 5: We’ll be working in BL that we left in the previous round.
*2 sc BL, sc BL* repeat until the end of the round. Sl st both loops next st [mark this st]. (18 sc)
Rnd 6: Repeat rnd 2.
Rnd 7: We’ll be working in BL that we left in the previous round.
*2 sc BL, sc BL in each of next 2 sts* repeat until the end of the round. Sl st both loops next st [mark this st]. (24 sc)
Remaining rnds: Repeat alternately between rnd 2 and the next one making sure to increase as you normally would in sc circles until you reach the size you like.
Rnd before the last: Crochet sc round increasing as you normally would using both loops.
Last rnd: Sl st FL in each st around. Sl st both loops in last st. FO.
