Crochet Baby Hat

Simple and easy to make crochet baby hat. You’ll find that it’s also easy to adjust to your measurement.Try using yarn same thickness as we used to have the same size. Us plastic or wooden buttons or beads to decorate your hat or you can make your own buttons using this pattern that we shared a while ago. Sc stitch was all I used for this pattern alternating between the BL for the rim to make it a little tighter and FL for the rest of the hat to make looser and lighter hat.

Materials:
Yarn about 3 mm thick
Crochet hook size 6 mm
Needle
Buttons or beads for decorations (optional) also you can make your won crochet buttons as shown here

Terms:
st – stitch
sl st – slip stitch
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
BL – back loop only
FL – front loop only

Notes:
To adjust the size of the hat to suits even an adult, make more or less chains in the first row to match your length and keep making rows until you reach the circumference of the hat you want to make. Make sure your last row is a repetition of Row 3.

Directions:
R 1: Ch 19, sc 2nd chain from the hook, sc across. (18 sc) Make more chains to make the hat taller.
R 2: Ch 1, sc BL next 3 sts, sc FL next 15 sts. (18 sc)
R 3: Ch 1, sc FL next 15 sts, sc BL next 3 sts. (18 sc)
R 4-35: Repeat R 2 and R 3 alternately. Add more rows for wider hat, make sure your last row is a repetition of R 3.

Closing the hat:
Line up the edges and close the side of the hat by slip stitching along the side seam.
FO leaving a long tail to sew the upper side of the hat.
Using a needle sew along the upper side of the hat then pull the yarn to close it. Secure the Yarn and weave in ends.
