In this pattern I’ll be sharing this unique crochet tapestry round rug. I used t-shirt yarn with thin cotton yarn to work around it. It’s really intersting piece of art that can be used in different ways.

Materials:
We need two kind of yarn, a thick and thin one. T-shirt yarn or thick rope for the thick yarn and cotton yarn/thread for the thin yarn
Choose the hook that is one or two size begger than the one you usually use with the thin yarn
Needle
Terms:
MR – Magic ring
st – stitch
sl st – slip stitch
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
Notes:
• We’ll be working with the thin yarn around the thick one except for the first round that we’ll be working with the thin yarn only.
• We’ll be working in regular single crochet rounds, that difference is that we’ll make [sc, ch 1] instead of every sc, and all stitches will be worked in ch 1 sp except for the first round that will be worked in the MR.
Directions:
Rnd 1: Using the thin yarn only, MR, *sc, ch 1* 6 times in the ring. (6 sc)
Rnd 2: Working around the thick yarn, [sc, ch 1] twice each ch sp. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: *[sc, ch 1] twice next ch sp, [sc, ch 1] next ch sp* repeat. (18 sc)
Rnd 4: *[sc, ch 1] twice next ch sp, [sc, ch 1] next ch sp, [sc, ch 1] next ch sp* repeat. (24 sc)
Rnd X: Repeat the steps increasing every round as you normally would with regular single crochet rounds except that we’ll make [sc, ch 1] instead of every sc, and all stitches will be worked in ch 1 sp.
When you reach the size you like you either
1. Finish now by sl st next ch sp then another sl st next ch sp without working around the thick yarn, FO
2. Or you can make a decoration edges using the shell stitch as shown next.
Last rnd: Sl st next ch sp, *skip next ch sp, 7 dc next ch sp, skip next ch sp, sl st next ch sp* repeat until the end of the round. FO.
