I made this crochet slippers using a fabric yarn that I bought while ago and didn’t know what to do with it. I ended up with a very nice pair of slippers.

Size: Adult – Medium
Materials:
Fabric yarn with suitable crochet hook
I used this yarn with 10 mm crochet hook
Needle
Large buttons
Sewing needle and thread to sew the buttons
Terms:
MR – Magic ring
st – stitch
sl st – slip stitch
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
Notes:
This pattern start with rounds then go to rows. After that we’ll work around the edges with slip stitches, after that close the back side of the slippers with slip stitches.
Directions:
The rounds
Rnd 1: MR, ch 2 (count as hdc), 11 hdc, sl st 2nd ch. (12 hdc)
Rnd 2: Ch 2 (count as hdc), hdc same st, *2 hdc, hdc* repeat until the end, sl st 2nd ch. (18 hdc)
Rnd 3 – 6: Ch 2 (count as hdc), hdc in each st, sl st 2nd ch. (18 hdc)
Do not FO.
The rows
All ch 2 in this part does not count a stitch.
Row 1: Ch 2, turn, hdc in each of next 12 sts. (12 hdc)
Row 2 – 8: Repeat row 1. You can add more rows if the slippers is short. Do not FO and do not turn at the end.
Working around the edges:
Ch 2, sl st evenly around the long upper edge until you reach the other side.
Closing the back:
• Do not tun. Ch 1, sl st down the back edge through two layers to close them. To sl st work through one loop of each side (the inner loops).
• FO and weave in ends. Repeat same steps for the other slippers.

Sewing the buttons:
• Sew the buttons on the opposite side of each slipper.
• Cut a piece of yarn long enough and attach it to the opposite side of the buttons to make a loop as you see in the pic.
