Materials
Thin to medium yarn with suitable crochet hook
You need 3 colors of yarn
Button with suitable size
Sewing thread and needle to sew the button
Terms
st – stitch
sl st – slip stitch
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
BL – back loop only
Notes
We’ll not weave in any ends.
We’ll not turn the work but we’ll rotate it.
Directions
Row 1: Using color 1, crochet any number of chains the size of your wrist, sc 2nd ch from the hook, sc in each st until the last 3 chs, ch 2, skip next 2 chs, sc last ch. FO, do NOT weave in ends and do NOT turn.
Note: The ch 2 space will be the buttonhole, adjust if you need.
Row 2: Using color 2, slip knot (pic 1), we’ll start working in the first ch we made in row 1 (pic 2), sl st in the outer loop in each st as you see in the pic until the end of the row, do not turn.
Rotate the work and sl st in the small edge (pic 3), complete working on the other side by sl st BL in each st until the end of the row (pic 4). FO, do NOT weave in ends and do NOT turn.
Row 3: Using color 3, slip knot (pic 5), start working in first sl st of row 2 by crocheting sl st BL in each st (pic 6), complete working around the other side until the end. FO and do NOT weave in ends.
Finishing
Gather all the remaining tails (pic 7) and make a large knot.
Sew the button to the round edge (pic 8) using the sewing thread and needle.
Comb the tails and cut the tips even.
