Crochet pencil holder that I used cross stitch to make it. It’s very easy to make and more sturdy than the original single crochet stitch. It also can be resized to your preferences.

BL – back loop only
Special terms
Invisible slip stitch/Invisible join at the end of the pattern
BBL – Back back loop/Camel stitch
Notes
You can resize the base and sides of the holder.

Directions
Note: We’ll be using the cross single crochet in all of the pattern.
Sc = cross sc
Rnd 1: MR, 8 sc. (8 sc)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st. (16 sc)
Rnd 3: *2 sc, sc* repeat until the end of the pattern. (24 sc)
Rnd 4: Sl st next st, ch 1, all of next sts will be worked in BL+BBL together. Sc in each st around. (24 sc)
Rnd 5 – 11: Working in normal loops, sc in each st around. (24 sc)
Rnd 12: Sl st in each st around, FO and weave in ends. You’re done!
