Medium thickness yarn with suitable crochet hook
I used 4 colors but you can use one or two

Terms
st – stitch
sl st – slip stitch
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
tr – treble crochet
BL – back loop only
FL – front loop only
Directions
Make a rectangular the size of your cup using the pattern in this link. Make sure it’s smaller than the cup.
After finishing the rectangular make sure of the size before completing next steps. Do not FO.
Do not turn, ch 1, sc evenly on next edge of the rectangular until you reach the middle, make a number of chains the size you want for the chains loop, complete making sc until the end of the row.
Turn, ch 1, sl st in each st. FO and weave in all ends.
Sew the button in the right place and you’re done.
