In this pattern I’ll be sharing this crochet braids circle that I used the front post double crochet in it to create the braids. You can use it as a doily or mini or large cushions.

Materials:
Any kind of medium to thick yarn with suitable crochet hook
You can use one or two colors
Needle
Terms:
MR – Magic ring
st – stitch
sl st – slip stitch
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
YO – yarn over
FPdc – front post double crochet
Special terms:
Invisible slip stitch/Invisible join
Notes:
If you choose to use two colors, use color 1 in first and second round, and in every FPdc st in the pattern. Use color 2 for the rest of the sts.
You don’t need to FO and join the yarn every time you want to change the color, just leave the color you’re not using in the back of the work.
The front post double crochet is what will make the braids.
Directions:
Rnd 1: MR, ch 3 (count as dc), 11 dc. Sl st 3rd ch. (12 dc)
Rnd 2: Ch 3 (count as dc), FPdc same st, 2 FPdc each st around. Sl st 3rd ch. (24 dc)
Rnd 3: Ch 3 (count as dc), FPdc next st, FPdc previous st. *dc, FPdc next st, FPdc previous st* repeat 11 times. Sl st 3rd ch. (36 dc)
Rnd 4: Ch 3 (count as dc), dc same st, FPdc in each of next 2 sts. *2 dc, FPdc in each of next 2 sts* repeat 11 times. Sl st 3rd ch. (48 dc)
Rnd 5: Ch 3 (count as dc), dc same st, dc next st, skip next st, FPdc next st, FPdc previous st. *2 dc, dc, skip next st, FPdc next st, FPdc previous st* repeat 11 times. Sl st 3rd ch. (60 dc)
Rnd 6: Ch 3 (count as dc), dc same st, dc in each of next 2 sts, FPdc in each of next 2 sts. *2 dc, dc in each of next 2 sts, FPdc in each of next 2 sts* repeat 11 times. Sl st 3rd ch. (72 dc)
To make the circle bigger, increase as you normally would repeating the FPdc part of round 5 and 6 alternately.
