Notes
I’ll be using the surface crochet to decorate the pencil case (link with pics). The surface crochet will give the case the stability it needs in addition to the stylish look.
The first row should be the length of the zipper. The more row you make the longer the case will be.
Directions
Crochet two identical individual pieces of the following pattern.
R 1: Number of chains the length of your zipper, sc 2nd ch from the hook, sc in each ch. At the end of this row make sure of the length and adjust if you needed.
R 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st.
Remaining rows: Repeat R 2 until you’ve the desired length of the case. FO and weave in ends.
Repeat same steps for the second piece.
Surface crochet
Embroider the two rectangles pieces you have using the surface crochet. Make sure to cover all the surface using any design you like. I used diagonal zigzag lines with different colors for one piece, and because I ran out of yarn I used same color for the second piece.
Sewing the zipper
Use the sewing machine to sew the two rectangles to the sides of the zipper with just a simple line.
Joining the sides of the case
* We’ll be using the slip stitch to join the three remaining sides of the case.
* Start with upper left side of the case as you see in the pic by joining the yarn and start making slip stitch in each st.
* Complete stitching until you reach the other side. FO and weave in ends.
