Notes
Usually we do not turn while working basket on rounds, but we’ll turn the work twice in this pattern as you’ll see in the instructions. Do not FO unit the end.
Directions
The Base
Rnd 1: Ch 8, sc 2nd ch from the hook, sc in each of next 5 sts, 3 sc last st, do not turn, working on the other side of the beginning chs, sc in each of next 5 sts, 2 sc last st. (16 sc)
Note: you can add more chains at the beginning for longer base.
Rnd 2: 3 sc, sc in each of next 5 sts, 3 sc, sc, 3 sc, sc in each of next 5 sts, 3 sc, sc. (24 sc)
Rnd 3: Sc, 3 sc, sc in each of next 7 sts, 3 sc, sc in each of next 3 sts, 3 sc, sc in each of next 7 sts, 3 sc, sc in each of next 2 sts. (32 sc)
Rnd 4: Sc in each of next 2 sts, 3 sc, sc in each of next 9 sts, 3 sc, sc in each of next 5 sts, 3 sc, sc in each of next 9 sts, sc in each of next 3 sts. (40 sc)
Rnd 5: Sc in each of next 3 sts, 3 sc, sc in each of next 11 sts, 3 sc, sc in each of next 7 sts, 3 sc, sc in each of next 11 sts, 3 sc, sc in each of next 4 sts. Do not FO. Complete next steps. (48 sc)
Note: You can add more rounds for larger base. Work sc in each sc and 3 sc in each corner.

We’ll make this stitch one time at the end of last round of the base.
* At the end of last stitch of the base, remove the hook and leave it for a bit. (pies 1, 2)
* Turn your work making the wrong side towards you. (pic 3)
* Insert the hook in both loops of the stitch on the right side of the loose loop. (pic 4)
* Using your finger insert the loose loop in the hook. (pic 5)
* Using the hook, pull the loop through toward you. (pic 6)
* Do not turn. Complete with sides directions.
The sides
Rnd 1: Ch 1, sl st each st around until the end of the round. (48 sl st)
Rnd 2: Turn bringing the right side towards you again. Ch 1, sc in each st around. (48 sc)
Rnd 3 – 7: Sc in each st until the end. Do not FO. (48 sc)
Note: you can add in more round fur taller sides.
Decorating the upper edge
[sl st next st, ch 1] repeat until the end, sl st or invisible sl st. FO and weave in ends. Your basket is done!
