I used several colors but you can use one or more if you want to.
The piece you want to surface crochet on to needs to be single crochet.
Directions
Crochet your main piece using single crochet, or you can use an old piece you have.
Choose the color you want to surface crochet with and start decorating your piece with hearts.
Always start with the lower part of the heart.
Follow the diagram I provided. One chain in the diagram means one surface crochet stitch.
